Para-Athlete Jeremy McGhee
Episode 8 features an interview with Hive athlete Jeremy McGhee, a multi-sport para-athlete who excels in surfing, skiing, swimming and mountain biking.
As a multi-sport athlete, Jeremy thrives on the challenges and the fun of moving from one sport to another. He and host David Willey dive into why continuing to be an athlete is important to him and the hurdles he’s had to overcomes as athlete and in his day-to-day. Along with that, he shares what he would like able-bodied athletes to know about para-athletes.
Being a para-athlete hasn’t slowed Jeremy down. In 2012, he became the first paraplegic athlete to climb and descend Bloody Couloir, a major backcountry ski route in the Eastern Sierras. The expedition led to a documentary called Drop In and a Ted-X talk that started Jeremy’s speaking career. To learn more about Jeremy and what he’s up to, you can visit his website here.
