This August, we are hosting the 9th annual Steamboat Stinger. This event has become a Colorado classic and showcases some of Steamboat’s finest singletrack right here in Honey Stinger’s backyard.
Save the Dates
Our event begins on Saturday, August 10th with a full day of mountain bike racing. Riders have the option to take on the full 50 mile course solo, or split the course with a partner in our duo category.
We’ll pick things up again on Sunday, August 11th for our trail marathon and half marathon. Marathon runners follow the same course as the mountain bikers, and half marathoners run a modified loop.
Pick Your Sport and Distance
For any brave athletes wanting to take on the ultimate challenge, we’ve got you covered. Athletes can choose to race the solo 50 mile mountain bike race on Saturday and follow it up by racing the full marathon on Sunday. The male and female winners with the lowest combined bike and run times will be crowned King Sting and Queen Bee.
Not ready to fight for the title of King Sting or Queen Bee? Find a partner and sign yourselves up for the Bumble Bee! Teams will compete in the duo mountain bike category on Sunday and race the half marathon on Sunday. We take your duo lap time and combine it with your half marathon time, awarding Bumble Bee prizes to the top three fastest combined times. The Bumble Bee category was new for 2018, and we are excited to continue offering it for 2019!
Once the dust has settled, we’ll have an awards ceremony at the start/finish area where athletes and spectators can enjoy food, music and a live band. We have awesome prizes from our sponsors for podium finishers, as well as cash prizes for our top male and female 50 mile solo mountain bikers, marathoners, King Sting and Queen Bee!
We hope to see you there!
